Why learn?

I'm reading the first few pages of our History book and came across this idea.  I love the phrase and plan to expound on it through the year.  In the meantime, I think I will print one of these to put up around the house. Which do you like best?

Images are taken from my father's photo albums.  If you want to see more of his work, you can befriend him on Facebook and "Like" his page, Vern Hibbard Photography.

I like the idea that as we learn, we can see the hand of God in the big things and the little things.  The more we find out about the world around us, the more we see His design.  And as we gain knowledge and confidence in that knowledge, it helps us share with others.

  2. One friend suggested that the top one (the fog) hold the question and the bottom one (the sunset) hold the answering statement. I really like that idea.

  3. The pictures are great, but I love the perspective. A couple years ago I had an opportunity to 'tutor' several teens in Classical Conversations. Had a young man say, "I hate algebra!" during class one day. Greatest. Moment. Ever. We had such a good conversation regarding Who we are really learning about, even in Algebra II.

    Great stuff.

  4. Wanda: I thought of this earlier but didn't comment at the time: I like the suggestion of one pic with the question and the other pic with the answer. But I'd love to see the bottom pic be the same view as the top one, but on a crystal clear day. I think that there would be great symbolism in the fog being removed.
